Collaboratative Mapping and Analysis Tools for Biological Spatio-Temporal Databases

چکیده
The purpose of this project is to deliver fast and collaborative image processing to the biology laboratory bench. This will be achieved in the context of spatial data mapping, reconstruction, analysis and database query by developing GRID-enabled tools based on the existing tools developed as part of the Mouse Atlas Program at the MRC Human Genetics Unit. The Mouse Atlas Program at the MRC Human Genetics Unit in Edinburgh has developed a spatio-temporal framework for mapping spatially organised data in the developing mouse embryo. The Mouse Atlas (EMAP) which includes anatomy ontology of the developing embryo and a gene-expression database for spatially mapped data (EMAGE) are part of this program. The program has also delivered a large body of software and user interfaces for individual use for data mapping, analysis, database query and 3D visualisation. The primary goal of this project is to extend these software tools to allow secure and efficient collaborative work at all levels using the GRID. The new developed tools will facilitate collaborative development of the underlying spatio-temporal framework. The spatial mapping of the data into the standard frame work or other images involves non-linear warp transformations which are generally compute intensive. The GRID will be used to provide high-performance computing and secure communication for mapping of the data. The reconstruction tools developed in the Mouse Atlas Project include automatic alignment, sectioning distortions removal, automatic matching of 2D sections onto a 3D template and user interfaces to manipulate grey-scale transformations and image properties.

Assessment of Neonate's Congenital Hypothyroidism Pattern Using Poisson Spatio-temporal Model in Disease Mapping under the Bayesian Paradigm during 2011-18 in Guilan, Iran
Background: Congenital Hypothyroidism (CH) is one of the reasons for mental retardation and defective growth in neonates. It can be treated if it is diagnosed early. The congenital hypothyroidism can be diagnosed using newborn screening in the first days after birth. Disease mapping helps to identify high-risk areas of the disease. This study aimed to evaluate the pattern of CH using the Poisso...
متن کاملA New Wavelet Based Spatio-temporal Method for Magnification of Subtle Motions in Video
Video magnification is a computational procedure to reveal subtle variations during video frames that are invisible to the naked eye. A new spatio-temporal method which makes use of connectivity based mapping of the wavelet sub-bands is introduced here for exaggerating of small motions during video frames. In this method, firstly the wavelet transformed frames are mapped to connectivity space a...

Air pollution is one of the most problems that people are facing today in metropolitan areas. Suspended particulates, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, ozone and nitrogen dioxide are the five major pollutants of air that pose many problems to human health. The goal of this study is to propose a spatial approach for estimation and analyzing the spatial and temporal distribution of ozone based on ...
متن کاملModeling spatial and temporal data in an object oriented constraint database framework
Constraints provide a flexible and uniform way to represent diverse data capturing spatio-temporal behavior, complex modeling requirements, partial and incomplete information etc, and have been used in a wide variety of application domains. Constraint databases have recently emerged to deeply integrate data captured by constraints in databases. This thesis is aimed at defining a constraint data...
متن کاملSpatio-Temporal Parameters' Changes in Gait of Male Elderly Subjects
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare spatio-temporal gait parameters between elderly and young male subjects. Methods & Materials: 57 able-bodied elderly (72±5.5 years) and 57 healthy young (25±8.5 years) subjects participated in this study. A four segment model consist of trunk, hip, shank, and foot with 10 reflective markers were used to define lower limbs. Kinematic data c...
